The Wise Old Man
Once upon a time, in a small village, there was an old man who was known for his wisdom. People from far and wide came to him with their problems, and he always had a solution. However, some villagers grew tired of his repeated advice and decided to mock him.
One day, a young man brought the old man a strange question. “Old man, if you are so wise, tell me this: what is the one thing that can fill an empty heart?” The villagers laughed, expecting the old man to stumble. Instead, he calmly said, “Love and kindness.”
The young man wasn’t satisfied and replied, “But love fades, and kindness isn’t always returned. What then?” The old man smiled and said, “True love and kindness come from within, not from expectation. If you give without expecting, your heart will never be empty.”
The young man was silent, and the villagers realized the old man was right. From that day on, they respected him even more, and they learned to give without expecting in return.

The Boy and the Starfish
One morning, a young boy was walking along the beach after a big storm. The shore was covered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore. As the boy walked, he bent down, picked up one starfish, and threw it back into the ocean.
An old man, who was watching him, approached and said, “Why are you wasting your time? There are too many starfish here. You can’t possibly make a difference.”
The boy picked up another starfish, threw it into the water, and smiled at the old man. “It made a difference to that one,” he said.

The Farmer and the Cracked Pot
A farmer in a small village had two large pots. Each hung on opposite ends of a pole, which he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
Every day, the farmer walked to the stream, filled both pots, and carried them back to his house. By the time he arrived home, the cracked pot had leaked out half its water, leaving it only half full. This went on for years.
One day, the cracked pot felt ashamed of its imperfection and said to the farmer, “I am sorry for being so flawed and for wasting your effort.”
The farmer smiled kindly and replied, “Have you noticed the flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? I planted seeds there because I knew about your flaw. Every day, as we walk, you water them, and now I have beautiful flowers for my table.”
The cracked pot realized that even its imperfection had a purpose and felt proud.
