فتحت الباب فوجدت المنزل مظلم أشعلت الضوء وفتحت باب غرفة المعيشة بعصبية، فجأة أضيئَت الأنوار، وإذا بجميع أصدقائها يناظرونها، وهم يحملون الورود والهدايا، وأمها تحمل بين يديها قالب الكيك.
صاح الجميع “مفاجأة” شعرت الفتاة بفرحة عارمة وبدأت بتقبيل أمها وأصدقائها، في النهاية استمتعت الفتاة مع أصدقائها بأجمل عيد ميلاد. [1]

العبرة: نتعلم بأن الصديق الحقيقي هو من لا يتخلا عن صديقه في أوقات الشدة. [3]

فيما يأتي قصة النملة والجندب التي تبين قيمة العمل، نوردها باللغة الإنجليزية والترجمة:

سخر الجندب من كلام النملة وعاد يتسكع من جديد في الغابة، سرعان ما جاء الشتاء وبدأ الثلج بهطول، غطى الثلج كل شيء فلم يعد الجندب يجد طعاماً يأكله فتذكر كلام النملة وشعر بالندم الشديد لأنه لم يعمل بنصيحة النملة.
